Walmart and SCAN launch co-branded Medicare Advantage plans for 2027
Walmart and SCAN Health Plan are launching two co-branded Medicare Advantage plans that will start on Jan. 1, 2027, the companies said in an Oct. 7 announcement.
The plans are SCAN Walmart Health Advantage, an HMO, and SCAN Walmart Medicare Complete, a chronic special needs plan. They will be offered to eligible Medicare beneficiaries in six counties in Texas and three counties in Arizona.
The companies said the plans are expected to be available to more than 2 million Medicare enrollees. They did not say how many members they expect to sign up or disclose financial terms of the partnership.
What Walmart brings
The plans pair SCAN's Medicare coverage with Walmart's Everyday Health Signals, an AI-powered platform, according to the release. The companies said the plans are meant to make it easier for members to use benefits on everyday needs such as nutrition.
