CenterPoint Energy Q3 net income rises to $331 million as revenue grows 10%
CenterPoint Energy grew third-quarter profit about 13%, helped by higher utility revenue, according to its quarterly report filed with the SEC on Tuesday.
The Houston-based utility reported net income of $331 million, or $0.50 per diluted share, for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up from $293 million, or $0.45, a year earlier, according to its 10-Q. Total revenue rose about 10% to $2.191 billion from $1.988 billion.
Operating income increased to $667 million from $502 million. Utility revenue rose to $2.177 billion, while depreciation and amortization climbed to $444 million from $392 million as the company keeps adding to its asset base. Interest expense and other finance charges rose to $259 million from $238 million.
Spending keeps climbing
CenterPoint spent $4.17 billion on capital expenditures in the first nine months of 2026, up from $3.39 billion a year earlier, the filing shows.
For the nine months, net income rose to $891 million, or $1.34 per diluted share, from $788 million, or $1.20.
What is not in the filing
The 10-Q reports results under generally accepted accounting principles and does not include the non-GAAP earnings measure or full-year guidance that CenterPoint usually discusses with investors. Those figures would come in a separate earnings release.
