Take-Two signs new long-term Xbox publisher license agreement with Microsoft
Take-Two Interactive refreshed its core platform relationship with Microsoft’s Xbox business. In a Wednesday Form 8-K, the publisher said that on Sept. 28, 2026 it entered a new long-term Xbox Publisher License Agreement with Microsoft Corporation, effective Sept. 17, 2026. The agreement supersedes and replaces all of Take-Two’s existing Xbox publisher license agreements with Microsoft.
Under the deal, Take-Two receives rights to develop, publish, have manufactured, market, advertise, distribute, and sell Xbox-compatible products for all Xbox devices. Microsoft will pay Take-Two the applicable wholesale price and/or agreed revenue share for digitally delivered products and content Microsoft sells. Microsoft can review, evaluate, and approve each game concept and final game version, including packaging and marketing materials that feature Microsoft marks. Microsoft also charges fees and royalties for each physical media product manufactured on Take-Two’s behalf.
Either party may terminate for material breach or insolvency. After expiration or termination, Take-Two retains certain rights to sell off existing inventories. The company said the filing description is only a summary and that the full agreement will be filed as an exhibit to its Form 10-Q for the period ending Sept. 30, 2026.
Shares of TTWO were about $207.50 in Wednesday’s session, up roughly 0.6% on the day and down about 17.5% year to date.
