Ollie's Bargain Outlet adds $500 million share buyback, lifting capacity to about $561 million
Ollie's Bargain Outlet is giving itself a lot more room to buy back stock. The off-price retailer said Tuesday in an 8-K its board unanimously approved a new $500 million share repurchase authorization.
Including what remained under its existing program, Ollie's now has about $561 million of total buyback capacity.
The new authorization has no expiration date. Ollie's may buy shares in the open market, in privately negotiated deals, through Rule 10b5-1 trading plans or by other permitted means, and it can suspend or discontinue the program at any time.
"Conviction" in the growth runway
"This new authorization underscores our conviction in the substantial long-term growth opportunity ahead," President and CEO Eric van der Valk said. He added that it shows confidence in "our ability to generate substantial cash flow over time, and in the strength of our financial position."
Van der Valk said the company's capital priorities are unchanged: investing in new stores, building out capabilities and infrastructure for growth, keeping financial flexibility and returning excess capital through buybacks.
Since starting its repurchase program in 2019, Ollie's has returned about $679 million to shareholders through buybacks while continuing to invest in new stores, supply chain capacity and growth initiatives.
The retailer, which sells closeout and excess-inventory merchandise, operated 686 stores in 36 states as of Aug. 1, 2026.
