Meta launches enterprise AI business and hires former MongoDB CEO CJ Desai to lead it
Meta is starting a new business called Meta Enterprise Platform to sell its AI technology to companies, and has hired Chirantan "CJ" Desai to run it, Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said in a Sept. 28 announcement.
Desai will join Meta as chief enterprise platform officer and report directly to Zuckerberg. He comes from MongoDB, where he was chief executive and president. Before that he led product and engineering at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as president and chief operating officer.
What the unit will sell
Zuckerberg called the platform "the next major pillar of our business." At first it will bring Meta's technology to businesses and developers, including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code, he said.
He said the unit will draw on Meta's models, agents, large-scale infrastructure and years of work with businesses.
What is not known
The post did not include revenue targets, pricing or terms of Desai's employment.
