IBM elects Siris Capital co-founder Frank Baker to board
IBM added a technology-focused private-equity veteran to its board. In a press release furnished with an 8-K Thursday, International Business Machines Corporation said directors elected Frank Baker to the board effective Oct. 1, 2026.
Baker, 53, is co-founder and managing partner of Siris Capital Group, which the release said has deployed more than $9 billion of equity capital since inception across technology, telecommunications, and data-focused companies. Chairman, President and CEO Arvind Krishna said Baker’s expertise and leadership would strengthen the board as IBM advances its long-term vision and enterprise-wide technology transformation.
The release said Baker oversees Siris’ portfolio and investment strategy and previously was a managing director at Ripplewood Holdings and began his career in mergers and acquisitions at Goldman Sachs. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago.
IBM shares rose Thursday, last near $225.62, up about 2.6% on the day.
