Hubbell raises 2026 outlook as data center demand lifts sales 25%
Hubbell raised its full-year adjusted earnings outlook after third-quarter sales jumped 25%, powered by more than 20% organic growth in its Electrical Solutions segment on strong data center demand.
Shelton, Conn.-based Hubbell reported adjusted diluted earnings of $5.91 per share for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up 14% from a year earlier, according to the earnings release attached to its 8-K on Tuesday. GAAP diluted EPS was $4.94.
Net sales rose 25%, with organic growth of 11% and acquisitions adding 13%. The adjusted operating margin expanded 160 basis points to 25.5%; the GAAP operating margin was 21.8%.
Data centers drive Electrical Solutions
Electrical Solutions sales surged 51% to $845 million, with organic sales up 22% and acquisitions contributing 29%. Adjusted segment operating income nearly doubled to $210 million from $116 million.
Chairman, President and CEO Gerben Bakker said the segment's growth was "led by strong datacenter markets and bolstered by content gains and capacity expansion investments," and that integration of the NSI acquisition is trending ahead of initial expectations.
Utility Solutions sales rose 9% to $1.028 billion, with organic growth of about 5%. Grid Infrastructure sales increased about 13%, while Grid Automation declined about 4%.
Guidance raised
Hubbell now expects 2026 adjusted diluted EPS of $20.40 to $20.60 and GAAP diluted EPS of $17.30 to $17.50. Bakker said the higher outlook is "primarily driven by stronger anticipated Electrical Solutions growth," and that orders and end-market demand kept building the backlog.
