Brown & Brown revenue rises 7.4% but organic growth slows to 1.2%
Brown & Brown's organic growth stayed slow in the third quarter. The insurance broker said Monday that a difficult pricing environment held organic revenue growth to 1.2%, even as acquisitions lifted total revenue 7.4% to $1.7 billion.
Diluted net income per share was $0.67, down 1.5% from a year earlier, according to the company's earnings release filed with the SEC. On an adjusted basis, EPS rose 1.9% to $1.07.
"The third quarter reflected the incredible efforts of our teammates to win more customers in spite of a challenging rate environment," President and CEO J. Powell Brown said in the release.
He also credited the roughly 5,000 employees who joined from Accession, which the company acquired just over a year ago.
Margins slipped
