BridgeBio Revenue Nearly Triples on Attruby Sales and Bayer Milestone
BridgeBio Pharma nearly tripled its third-quarter revenue to $353.2 million as U.S. sales of its heart drug Attruby climbed and a one-time $75.0 million milestone payment from Bayer arrived, shrinking its operating loss to $11.6 million, according to the earnings release the company filed with an 8-K on Thursday after the market close.
Revenue compared with $120.7 million a year earlier. The loss from operations narrowed from $145.2 million in the third quarter of 2025.
Attruby keeps growing
U.S. Attruby net product revenue reached $253.2 million, up about $31 million from the second quarter and about $145 million from a year earlier, the company said. Attruby treats transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy, known as ATTR-CM.
BridgeBio said growth was again led by patients new to treatment, with both the number of newly diagnosed patients starting therapy and Attruby's share of those starts increasing.
License and services revenue rose to $79.3 million from $8.3 million, driven primarily by the $75.0 million sales milestone under its license agreement with Bayer, which sells the drug as BEYONTTRA in Europe and Japan. Royalty revenue grew to $20.5 million from $4.3 million.
"Attruby delivered another quarter of sequential growth, driven by continued gains in first-line share," Chief Commercial Officer Matt Outten said in the release.
Losses narrow
The net loss attributable to common stockholders narrowed to $83.0 million, or 42 cents a share, from $182.7 million, or 95 cents. That figure included $26.3 million of preferred stock dividends and accretion that did not appear a year earlier.
Operating costs rose as the company prepared for new launches. Research and development expenses increased to $143.5 million from $112.9 million, and selling, general and administrative expenses climbed to $200.9 million from $137.6 million.
BridgeBio held $1.5 billion in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities at Sept. 30, which it said fully funds all three upcoming launches and expansion indications. Its cash flow statement shows $933.9 million of proceeds from issuing preferred stock and $252.5 million of common stock repurchases in the first nine months of the year.
Three FDA decisions ahead
The company faces three FDA target action dates over the next seven months, all under Priority Review. BBP-418 for limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2I/R9 has a Nov. 27, 2026 date, oral infigratinib for achondroplasia has a Feb. 4, 2027 date, and encaleret for autosomal dominant hypocalcemia type 1 has a May 8, 2027 date.
"Three PDUFA dates fall within the next seven months, each with the potential to be a first for communities that have waited far too long," CEO Neil Kumar said in the release.
BridgeBio said it has identified more than 500 U.S. patients with LGMD2I/R9 ahead of the BBP-418 decision. Infigratinib and encaleret are also under review by the European Medicines Agency, with potential EU approvals in the second half of 2027.
For the first nine months of 2026, total revenue rose to $791.4 million from $347.9 million.
