Amazon Unveils Echo Show 16 and New Alexa Devices, Adds 100+ Alexa Shopping Actions
Amazon rolled out a new lineup of Alexa devices on Wednesday, led by a redesigned Echo Show 16 smart display, and followed on Thursday by adding more than 100 new capabilities to its Alexa for Shopping assistant, the company said in press releases.
Amazon said hundreds of millions of customers are using its new Alexa experiences and are talking to Alexa two to three times more than before. Certain features require Alexa+, which is included with Prime.
Echo Show 16 leads the hardware
The all-new Echo Show 16 has a 16-inch full HD screen with 10% more viewing area than the Echo Show 15 in a frame that is nearly 40% thinner, according to Amazon. It has Fire TV built in, a new 13-megapixel wide-angle camera and, for the first time on an Echo Show, night vision.
Echo Show is Amazon's fastest-growing Echo product line, growing more than 25% year over year, the company said. The Echo Show 16 is available for preorder starting at $499.99, or $569.99 with an anti-glare Nanomatte display, and will begin shipping later this year. Customers who preorder get $100 off.

Amazon also introduced Alexa Home Map, an interactive 3D map of a home that shows connected devices where they sit and lets users control them. It will start rolling out in preview later this year on apps and larger Echo Show devices, including the new Echo Show 16.
Alexa for Shopping adds account tasks
In a separate release Thursday, Amazon said Alexa for Shopping can now handle more than 100 common shopping actions through conversation, including managing lists and registries, Subscribe & Save deliveries, Prime benefits, delivery instructions and billing questions. The capabilities are available now to all U.S. Amazon customers.
Over 400 million customers have used Alexa for Shopping in the last 12 months, and the number using its agentic features has grown more than eight times since the start of the year, Amazon said.
"Our vision for Alexa for Shopping is to make every part of shopping as convenient as possible," said Rajiv Mehta, vice president of Conversational Shopping.
