Apple commits up to $100 million with Perryman for U.S. titanium in iPhone Duo
Apple will commit up to $100 million over the next three years with Perryman Company, a Pennsylvania titanium producer, the company said in an Oct. 20 announcement.
Perryman will supply titanium for Apple products, including the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable iPhone. At its site in Houston, Pennsylvania, Perryman melts, forges and rolls titanium with at least 80% recycled content, Apple said.
Camera parts
Apple is also expanding its partnership with Delaware-based Qnity Electronics. Qnity will make advanced films for the new variable-aperture camera on the iPhone 18 Pro, according to the release. Apple did not give a dollar figure for the Qnity work.
The broader program
Both deals fall under Apple's American Manufacturing Program, which is part of the company's $600 billion, four-year commitment to U.S. manufacturing and innovation.
Apple said nearly 100 components in the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro are made by American companies in more than a dozen states. It also said it works with suppliers in all 50 states and supports more than 450,000 American jobs.
"We're proud to work with Perryman and Qnity Electronics to continue expanding our American Manufacturing Program and support U.S. jobs," Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan said in the release.
